It looks like while once I’m up in Minnesota I’ll have to schedule a day to draw 35 or 50 comics!
Actually, I can just make it a stretch goal to make it fifty if I reach $4000. How does that sound
I’m now getting a few shipments ready to go out tomorrow, which’ll include orders made since April 2. So now’s a good time to get a bookset if you want it delivered pretty quickly!

Yup, was kinda hoping I could back into a more productive streak before doing this, but I can’t put this off any longer. It’s sales drive time. Yeah it’s pretty much all but confirmed now that I’m moving up to Minneapolis. in about a month and a half, and moving costs money. Root Canals (which I also need) also cost money. And yeah, when you drop something on your tablet screen, as I did last night, the repairs to the resulting cracks will cost money too. I still can’t believe I fucking did that.

BIGCARTEL: The Girly Collection and Figurine!
I moved my store over to BigCartel for the convenience of convenience, and this is where you can get the remaining Girly things. If you were ever thinking of buying them, now’s the absolute best time to do it. There’s 152 book collections left and 5 figurines. For every 5 collections I sell, that’s one less box I have to take with me. It would help quite a bit! There’s also a box of Cutewendy books and a few Snail shirts (size XL).
My other store, which sells the digital books, is at Gumroad. The sales at this particular store haven’t gone well, but I plan to have collections of all my stuff available there eventually anyway. For now you can get the Girly books for much cheaper here, and you can pick and choose the volumes you want. If you’re wondering how they are different from just browsing the website, well… They’re MUCH higher-res. They also come with all the extras the printed books have. The above shots are all from the iPad 3, using the free iBooks software. Then there’s a couple shots on the Galaxy for good measure. Seriously. Buy these damn things. >:|
If you want to just donate… Well, I’m not taking those. So just give the digital books a shot. They’re priced at $5+ meaning you can pay $5 or more for them. So drop some money there and pick up a PDF or two while you’re at it. Come onnnnn.
If you’re wondering where the You Suck merchandise is, well… you’ll have to wait a while for that; the comic is still pretty new!

Remember back in 2009 or thereabouts, when I drew 35 comic strips in a single day? Well, if I meet this goal by May 10 I will set aside a day and do the same thing again. And if I’m feelin’ really good, I may make it 50.

The start of 15-8 was comprised of a lot of short and rapid 1-page updates, done this way to help warm me up for a lot of long and complicated comics that would have to be done during the endgame. As you can see, I’m skipping ahead a little bit, to a rather fun comic where Sandra suddenly and inexplicably gains the ability to kick butt.
Sandra was a pretty interesting character to develop, starting out as a one-off “victim” of Chuy’s, to Autumn’s roommate, to Collette’s best friend and sidekick of sorts. But in the end, I must admit that many of her mannerisms were derived from a character from one of my all time favorite mangas called Geobreeders.
Everyone in the main cast of Geobreeders was pretty likeable, but Himehagi Yu was my favorite and I’m sure you can easily see just from those two panels how her mannerisms rubbed off on me a bit when I was writing Sandy.
Akihiro is a great and talented artist and I consider his miniseries Belle Starr Bandits to be one of the biggest masterpieces ever to come from Japan. Do look him up when you get the chance! Alas, it’s a friggin’ shame, but none of his works have been properly localized to English in their entirety due to various unfortunate circumstances… not to mention that just like Ai Yazawa, he became mysteriously ill a few years ago and was forced to prematurely put on indefinite hold all the comics he was working on, and just after an extremely depressing conclusion to a major story arc for Geobreeders. Recently he’s gotten back to work, but has only been able to contribute pinups to his publisher, and it’s been that way for about a year now. I sure hope that he gets better somehow; it’s never fun when an artist is forced to stop doing what he spent his whole life around.
Well, anyway… The word “videogame” has come up. It begins.

And now a return to the commentaries about the subchapter where a lot of characters return.
Kind of like the subchapter about the kittens, there isn’t a heck of a lot to say about this one, really, so I’ll do one more after this and then skip right along to the ridiculously long and somewhat problematic Chapter 15-8, of which there’s approximately 5 million things to talk about.
Many of the characters that appeared in 15-7 had a look that evolved gradually over time, but Clampjaw hasn’t appeared in several years. I sorta had to learn how to draw him all over again. It was fun!
Also fun was drawing Mickey with a completely new look for the fourth or fifth time. Apparently I forgot that I did this already at the start of the chapter. But it’s all right… At this point, I considered the style-changing thing to be part of her personality, as was the deal with Collette. Nevertheless, I did end up liking the earlier hairstyle in the chapter a bit better, so I gave it back to her when I transferred her over to Doctor V… then after somewhat of a timeskip in that series, I gave her a nice ragdoll look… which is what she has in You Suck right now! Will she change again? Probably not, actually.
On another note, I’m not entirely sure if Babs will appear in You Suck, which is actually a bit odd as I always considered those two attached at the hip. But You Suck is a comic that has surprised me in various ways.

The Girly Collection has been available for a while, but maybe some of you were hoping for a way to buy the books separately or maybe just didn’t have a hundred bucks to throw around. Welp, here you go!
Digital volumes of all 4 books are up for sale on Gumroad. These are all formatted like the print volumes are and optimized for tablets. Compatible with iBooks and any reader that supports PDF. All pages are sized to be twice the resolution of the New iPad, so you can zoom in on whatever little details you’re interested in as well as print out your favorite pages and post them on your wall.
They can be downloaded right now! for $10 each. Except the last volume, which is $15 due to its hugeness. All purchases will (very much) help fund my upcoming move!
