Actually the UPS guy did knock on the door this past hour and interrupted me while I was jerking off, but I’m not sure if anyone wanted to see that. Plus I already did a comic about jerking off last year.

CHARLIE in… TRUTH or DAIRY
(NB: Comics website still broken; pardon the temporarily inaccurate watermarks.)
Here’s a four-pager I made for Dark Horse Presents but was unfortunately rejected. To be fair I knew there was a possibility that might happen… I thought the weird cow sex would do it, but apparently it was the humour at the expense of religion. Americans eh!
The good news is, this means you get to see it months in advance, and you don’t have to pay for it. The bad news is, this would have looked AWESOME in print. I put a lot of effort into researching and accurately emulating 1970s comic colouring methods. I don’t have the talent of those old artists and colourists, but I’m proud of this comic anyway.
Charlie is of course a parody of/tribute to Al Hartley’s weirdo Christian Archie comics from the 1970s. They seem to be becoming well-known on the internet lately, yet still remembered as an obscure anomaly. But when I was a little kid, Christian Archie, as far as I knew, was Archie. Eventually I encountered a worldly (!!!) Archie comic and assumed it was a rip-off of the tracts I knew so well. I can’t remember how I felt when it was explained to me that I had it backwards.
