happy birthday, dude! i'm going to get mushy now, i've been reading your comics since i was a wee teenager and you were writing funny comics about awesome ladies before i became more consciously feminist and realised how badly i needed characters like Otra and Winter. funny queer women having adventures w/o queer-related angst, it was so refreshing to see. and you changed my tastes in art/cartoons for the better. I am also really enjoying You Suck! ANYWAY i hope you have a great bday

ngl, following your work online since the 90s has been fucking inspirational. even with superduper nostalgia goggles on (some part of my brain is still all HE WILL FINISH "BONDS" SOME DAY)--you've gotten better and better at the things you were already good at, while going through and coming out the other end of shit that's made other artists throw in the towel. rock on, you crazy bastard.

Protesters are angry about these strange negotiations to release protesters. What kind of practice is this?
September 28th

Sooo… those who rolled their eyes at us when we called the Ferguson PD terrorists, what do you say now? We’re seeing literal hostage negotiations.
People see groups like ISIS as threats to America, when the fact is the maniacs are already here, pretending to protect us. iwriteaboutfeminism:

Imagine hating your own characters this much

and here we see the inevitability of mortality. That everything that ever mattered to us will eventually turn into this, and that nothing truly mattered at all.

let us not forget the time Starbucks sued cartoonist Kieron Dwyer, without even the courtesy of a cease-and-desist letter, for creating and publishing a parody of their logo.

After putting it off for years, I have decided to start getting things permanently etched on my body. It’s just a waste of space otherwise.

A few years ago, I designed a pretty bitchin’ burning american flag for my friend joannablackhart's first tattoo, and I felt that my own first tattoo should similarly be one that could piss people off.So here's my snarky view of the realism of capitalism as drawn by fellow socialist cartoonist steph-mcmillan .

in celebration of homestuck’s return, here is a drawing of some of my favorite trolls

down together #2!
Is this a sequel to Girly!!?!
No, it’s a spinoff. You could say it takes place at various points during the comic, but mostly between Chapters 13 and 14.
Why the name “Down Together”?
Same as “Girly” it is a name of a song by The Refreshments, from the same album, Fizzy Fuzzy Big & Buzzy. Several chapters into the comic I realized that would have been a much better name, but it was too late to change it. Now that I’ve begun this spinoff, I can sort of do just what I wanted back then!
What made you decide to start this reboot?
Readers of the blog seemed to express opinions of “I miss those two SOOOO much T___T” every time I posted art of W+O. I realized there was more neat stuff I could do with them. Also, people in GBS made these extremely asinine comics about Girly and it gave me the urge to draw more Girly comics and make them miserable.
What sort of stories will we see?
Simpler ones, overall. As with You Suck, I’ll be restricting myself to the 4-panel format, for the most part, and I’ll be tryin’ to make each strip count. We’ll just be seeing the various adventures W+O have been having, which we may have missed during the timeskips the comic had.
Well, that’s neat… and what about-
And I’ll say right now that fans of chapters 13 and 14 will be much more happy with this series than fans of chapters 1 through 4, as we’ll be getting more stuff like that. More charming banter between girlfriends and not so much sparkly-eyed anime romance.
And due to the simpler nature of the comic, it will mostly focus on just the two girls. Not to say our favorite characters may not stop in every so often.
Does that include Chuy, Autumn, and Policeguy? Because if this takes place mostly during chapters 13 and 14, I recall they were written out of those chapters…
They’ll likely show up anyway. And Collette and Sandra will be drawn more like they looked in chapter 15. I don’t plan to adhere to continuity particularly strictly. If Girly were a better series, I’d feel inclined to stick to that, but…
Will there be tits in the comic?
Probably. Also a lot more swearing. Look, I only do comics for mature people now, okay?
How often will it update!? Will it get its own website eventually??
Ah! Well, you see. That depends. On things.
Things?
